How did  you come to work at PIPB?

I had just moved back home from Denver, CO and I was looking for a position that incorporated working with patients and insurance. My background is working in physical therapy as a tech. I loved working with the patients and then working on the billing side of things. PIPB offers the best of both worlds. I’m able to offer my compassionate side, but I’m also able to be a patient advocate in the insurance world.

What’s your favorite thing about working here?

Walking out the door everyday with a whole and grateful heart. I remember each of my patients and carry them in my heart always.

What do you do to encourage patients in your job?

Smile and be genuine. Give them my time and true attention.

What do you do in your free time?

I love to spend time with family, boyfriend, and friends. Hiking is always a favorite for me. I found such strength and solitude while hiking in Colorado so I try to keep that a part of my life. Going to sporting events. Nashville Predators, Sounds and Nashville Soccer Club games are where my heart is.

Tell us about your family.

I was raised in Columbia, TN where my parents are still married and reside. There were 4 of us kids. My older sister now lives in Charlottesville, VA and is a RD with UVA and has 2 little girls. My little brother lives in Huntsville with his wife and 2 kids. He works in insurance. My older brother is watching over all of us from heaven.

Where are you originally from?

I was born in Williamsport, PA. Immediately moved to Texas, then moved to Tennessee when I was 3.

What is your favorite quote or scripture?

“You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I lived through this horror, I can take the next thing that comes along”
