Silicone Breast Prosthesis

To properly clean your breast forms and avoid any potential damage, it is recommended that you hand wash your forms daily using mild soap, warm water, and a soft, non-abrasive washcloth.

Although the protective covering is sturdy, it can be damaged by sharp objects. Pins, jewelry, scissors, etc. should be avoided when wearing or handling the breast form. Do not use powder or perfume on your breast form. Powders tend to dry the breast form and perfumes may damage the textured film that surrounds the silicone

If you’re a swimmer, wash your breast forms after every swim, especially in saltwater or chlorinated water.

Pat dry – After cleaning, gently pat the breast form dry with a soft towel.

Store when not wearing

After you patted the breast form dry, place them in the box they came in to help them retain their shape.

Elastic Garments (Sleeves, Gloves, & Socks)

Always put on your compression garments in the morning immediately after you get out of bed. This is when circumferences are at their slimmest as the tissues don’t show any swelling yet. This makes it easier to put them on. This doesn’t apply to compression garments for scar therapy where the garment must be worn continually for 24 hours.

Wear nylon gloves with a non-stick coating when putting on the compression garment. They allow you to easily mold your compression garment to your arm or leg. They also prevent damages to the knitted fabric. Ensure that your hands and fingernails are well kept and remove jewelry before putting the garment on.

Wash your compression garment every day – this is the only way the elastic properties are retained over the long term. Residue of skin scaling, ointments, dirt and dust particles have an abrasive effect.

Your compression garment can be washed in the washing machine on a delicate wash cycle, with mild detergent. We recommend turning compression garments with silicone borders inside out before washing. Close all fasteners before washing.

CAUTION: Please do not use any shampoos or fabric softeners as the plasticizers they contain damage the compression fabrics.
