Welcome Vanderbilt Patients

Let’s Get You Ready

Your surgeon at Vanderbilt Surgeon has recommended post-surgical compression garments, which will aid in your healing process and reduce the risk of complications.

It’s also the first of many ways we can assist you in recovery.

Here’s What To Do Next

Our top priority right now is making sure you’re completely ready for surgery. We will schedule a fitting for you no sooner than 30–45 days prior to your surgery date.

FAQ’s

Do I need an appointment?
Yes. We our trained fitters take specific measurements to ensure you are in the proper fitting garments.
Will my insurance cover this?
There is no cost for the fitting itself. The price depends on the garments you need, and where you are with your annual deductible. We are in network with most commercial insurance plans. Out of network payers include: Oscar, WellCare, and Wellpoint.
What can I expect during my appointment?
Your fitter will review why you are here, explain the garments and phases of fittings for surgical garments, and then take measurements. They will go over how to properly don the items, best practices and the wear and care of your new garments. They will schedule an appointment for you about 2 weeks post surgery to come in and be fit for your Phase 2 custom garments.
Are compression garments hot or uncomfortable?
Wraps are an essential part of the protocol, and to be honest, yes, they can be hot. You can expect to be wearing and adjusting them for 2 weeks post surgery.
