In April 2026, Pretty In Pink Boutique celebrates 21 years of service.
Twenty-one years of fittings.
Twenty-one years of steady reassurance in private fitting rooms.
Twenty-one years of women walking through our doors uncertain — and leaving feeling supported, balanced, and more like themselves again.
This milestone belongs not only to our team, but to every survivor, patient, caregiver, healthcare partner, and long-time customer who has trusted us along the way.
At its core, Pretty In Pink Boutique has always been about personalized care that restores comfort, dignity, and confidence. Whether someone visits us for a post-mastectomy fitting, compression therapy, or a wig consultation, our purpose has remained the same: to meet each woman where she is and walk beside her with compassion and professionalism.
As we reflect on 21 years, we do so with gratitude — and with a clear vision for what comes next.

A Look Back: Where It All Began
Pretty In Pink Boutique was founded in April 2005 by Pamela Ludwig, RN. The vision was born from experience — watching her own mother navigate breast cancer and recognizing the gap between medical treatment and emotional recovery.
Surgery addresses the physical need. But what happens after?
Who helps restore balance?
Who ensures comfort?
Who provides privacy, understanding, and expertise during an incredibly vulnerable time?
What began as a small operation has grown into a full-service boutique in Franklin, Tennessee, serving women throughout Middle Tennessee and surrounding communities.
Over the past two decades, we have expanded thoughtfully:
- From foundational mastectomy products to comprehensive fitting services
- From limited offerings to carefully curated garment and wellness solutions
- From a small team to experienced Certified Fitters dedicated to patient-first care

Growth has never been about scale. It has always been about impact.
Highlights from the Last 21 Years
Thousands of Personal Journeys
Over the last 21 years, Pretty In Pink has supported thousands of women navigating breast cancer recovery, lymphedema management, and treatment-related hair loss.
Each fitting represents more than a transaction — it represents a turning point.
We remember one woman who arrived quietly after surgery, unsure what to expect. She had postponed her fitting because she “wasn’t ready.” After being gently measured and fitted, she stood in front of the mirror for a long moment. Then she said, simply, “I feel like myself again.”
Moments like that define our work.
Professional fitting care matters because recovery is not only physical. It is emotional and deeply personal.
The Importance of Professional Standards
Proper post-mastectomy and compression fitting is not guesswork. It requires training, anatomical understanding, and defined clinical standards.
Organizations such as the American Association of Breast Care Professionals outline professional standards for mastectomy fitters to ensure patients receive safe, knowledgeable, and compassionate care.
Understanding what certification requires — including education, ethical standards, and scope of practice — helps patients feel confident in who is caring for them. You can read more about Certified mastectomy fitter certification requirements through AABCP.
At Pretty In Pink Boutique, our team adheres to these professional principles — ensuring every fitting is grounded in expertise, dignity, and patient-first service.
Expanding to Meet Real Needs
As patient needs evolved, so did we.
Over time, we expanded into:
-
- Compression therapy fittings
- Wig consultations and fittings
- Ongoing refitting services as bodies change over time
- Insurance billing guidance and documentation support
Each addition came from listening carefully to what women told us they needed — not just once, but consistently.
We learned that compression must be properly fitted to truly work.
We learned that wigs are not simply cosmetic — they are deeply tied to identity.
We learned that insurance paperwork can feel overwhelming when someone is already navigating treatment.
And so we adapted.
Partnerships That Strengthen Care
Over 21 years, we have built strong relationships with local surgeons, oncologists, radiation teams, physical therapists, and lymphedema specialists throughout Tennessee.
When providers refer patients to Pretty In Pink, they are entrusting us with a continuation of care.
That trust matters.
Our goal has always been to provide a seamless experience — one that bridges clinical treatment with personalized, hands-on support in a setting that feels calm and respectful.
Where We’re Headed Next
Twenty-one years is not a finish line. It is a foundation.
As we look ahead, our focus remains steady: deepen education, strengthen partnerships, evolve thoughtfully, and continue honoring survivorship.
Expanded Education and Empowerment
Knowledge reduces uncertainty.
In the years ahead, we will expand educational resources through our Blog, in-store workshops, and easy-to-understand patient handouts.
We want every woman who visits us to understand:
- What proper compression should feel like
- When it’s time for a refitting
- How post-surgical garments support healing and balance
- What to expect during a private wig consultation
Education builds confidence — and confidence supports recovery.
Growing Our Medical Partnerships
Healing is collaborative.
We will continue strengthening relationships with breast surgeons, oncology providers, and lymphedema therapists to ensure patients experience continuity from diagnosis through long-term recovery.
When someone walks into Pretty In Pink after being referred, they should feel expected — not lost.
Evolving Our Product Lines
Comfort, inclusivity, and innovation guide our selections.
We are expanding offerings across:
Every product is chosen with one question in mind:
Will this genuinely improve someone’s comfort?
Celebrating Survivorship
Survivorship deserves recognition.
In the coming years, we plan to host more community-centered gatherings, anniversary celebrations, and patient appreciation events. We want to create intentional spaces where resilience is acknowledged and healing is honored.
For many women, walking back through our doors months or years later is its own celebration. It represents strength, perseverance, and forward movement.
Survivorship is not just an outcome. It is a journey worth honoring.
Continuing Our Mission
Through every expansion, every partnership, and every new offering, our mission remains unchanged:
Compassion in every interaction.
Professionalism in every fitting.
Dignity in every experience.
Our Certified Fitters will continue providing personalized, private, patient-first care — just as they have for more than two decades. You can learn more about the team behind this care by visiting Meet the Certified Fitters.
